Implementing The SurvivorScout Program
The SurvivorScout program is intended to be implemented in the following sequential steps:
The Webelos Pathfinder Program:
To plan and execute a challenging, realistic outdoor based Webelos program, with the intent of building a foundation of outdoor skills and fostering excitement with the outdoor challenges of the Scouting program;
The Pathfinder Program:
To continue to build upon and reinforce the skills learned in Webelos levels of the Scouting program thru the planning and executing of a realistic skill-based Boy Scout program; and to facilitate and build upon the essential Boy Scout skills;
The SurvivorScout Program:
to present a series of challenges of increasing difficulty where experienced Boy Scouts are afforded the opportunity apply learned skills in as many situations and environments as possible; and to build competence in primitive outdoor skills as a means of building greater individual confidence, competence, skill teaching ability, and leadership skill.
As stated in the SurvivorScout Method, the ultimate lasting effect of the multifaceted SurvivorScout project is the development of self confidence, self reliance, self esteem and a strong sense of self that will last long beyond a the Scouting years, and will have a lasting effect on the development. of strong character.
